Three weeks to respond to Improving Disability Assistance in Scotland

Wednesday 8th May 2019

The Scottish government's consultation on Improving Disability Assistance closes on Tuesday 28 May.

The Scottish government has confirmed that new claims for Disability Living Allowance (DLA) in Scotland will start to be replaced by a devolved benefit, Disability Assistance for Children and Young People, from Summer 2020.

These are part of plans for the Scottish government to take full responsibility for all remaining devolved entitlements to disability assistance from April 2020.

Since March the Scottish government has been consulting on these plans, and this consultation will end in three weeks.
