Go back a step

Without Contact I don't know where we'd be

Naomi Gwynne - Proudest Moment Award

Me and my family

My name's Miriam, and I'm mum to 11-year old twins Isaac and Naomi. Isaac has neurofibromatosis type 1 and Naomi has autism.

With less than a week to go until Giving Tuesday, a global giving day, I'm asking you to support Contact by donating £4 a month - or whatever you can afford.

I called Contact's helpline in quite a desperate state. I was struggling financially and very isolated. It turned out we were missing out on much-needed financial support.

Having that extra income made a huge difference and lifted some of the strain I was feeling

I felt I could concentrate on being a mum to my children, who really needed me. And if that wasn't enough Contact's helpline team put me in touch with carers groups which have helped us be less isolated.

We have come a long way as a family, but without the support of Contact I honestly don't where I'd be.

Last year Contact supported 100,000 families like mine - and maybe like yours, too.

With your help, we can reach thousands more families when they need it most.
